History:
In Mahabaratha, Kunti was married to King Pandu of Hastinapura Empire. She is the mother of Pandavas and Karna. During their exile, they briefly stayed in Pandavapura, where lies the Kunti Betta.
The Majestic Nandi |
Journey:
Kunti Betta is around 120Kms from Bengaluru. We were a group of 5 people. We rode in our two wheelers to reach the foot of the hills.
Sugar Factory |
The road leading to the hills is covered with fresh scent of jaggery emitting from number of factories. The roads are in dilapidated state covered with sugarcane waste. There is a school at the base, with ample parking available.

Stairs to Hill |
The entrance to the hill has multiple temples on either side. One of the temple has a huge Nandi sitting at the door. Lord Ganesha is carved on the rocks. There is a small pond facing the temples.
The area is predominantly surrounded by diverse shades of green, with plenty of paddy and sugar cane fields.
It took us less than an hour to reach the summit. The trek is fairly simple with some remarkable view points as you ascend.
1. The Crocodile Spot
2. The Dog Face
3. The AvalaBetta Replica
Dog Face |
Once we realised this trek was more than what was hyped for, we saw few kids trekking the next hill. Curiously, we decide to climb that too. This hill was difficult comparatively. It had lot of stones and tricky path ways which needed stamina.
Thonnur Lake
|
Once, we reached the summit we relished on the yummy lunch which we had packed on the way. The Avalabetta replica from the second hill has an amazing view of the whole village with Thonnur lake in the corner. Flowered sugar cane fields looked like a huge head with lot of dandruff from far.
Overall, we were satisfied with the second hill more than the first once, the descent took us 30 minutes
